Bamptee
Unified enterprise platform for logistics, orders, stock, and workforce management.
CHALLENGE
A fast-growing B2B bakery in Paris expanded across the city and needed its own enterprise ecosystem to keep operations running smoothly. The ecosystem needs to be customizable so that it can be sold to other companies as a SaaS product.

PROBLEMS
I joined the project as an intern and was later hired as a product designer. By the time I started, these were the main problems:
Team problems
Components were created inconsistently, scattered across 20+ Figma files, and weren’t maintained, making it hard to track the latest versions.

STEPS TAKEN
For the team
I set up an Atomic Design methodology call with the designers to unify and simplify the way components were created.

Atomic Design Methodology call
To unify the way components were created, I explained the methodology, the soft grid of 4, and auto layout in Figma to interns and other designers, then demonstrated how to apply it in practice.

FEEDBACK
The designs improved significantly, making it much easier to collaborate with other designers' work.
Driver flow redesign
This was the first module I applied the new design system to. My main concern was making it accessible for the driver—ensuring the buttons were big enough and the contrast high enough to accommodate the driver’s situational disability, as they need to hold the wheel and pay attention to the road.

FEEDBACK
Drivers were happy with the updated design, finding it easier to complete their work and make fewer errors while using the app. They felt supported by our team.

Pre-Order Module
In the Pre-order module, clients can place bulk orders for upcoming holidays.
I worked closely with the project’s CPO on this module and was responsible for documenting user flows, creating a table with actions for each step of the flow for both the Client and Sales personas, and creating final mockups.

Design System
It's a minimal viable design system because, in this fast-paced project, there's no time to stop and focus on it—we need to keep delivering new modules and features.
To avoid overwhelming the devs with too much work at once, I took the MUI components they were using, tweaked them by removing unnecessary features, applying our own color variables, and swapping the MUI icons for our own icon pack. I softened the shadows, rounded the borders, created our own type scale.
Once it was done, I presented it to our dev team on a call, going in-depth to showcase each component’s properties.

FEEDBACK
It’s a work in progress, but it already does the job.
We’re currently working closely with developers to unify naming conventions and create a storybook to complete our design system. Our goal is to build a solid yet simple foundation for future growth and scalability.

OUTCOME
Cognitive load of the team has been reduced, design tasks and implementations are completed faster. The design system is nearing completion with its storybook and code, leading to fewer UI bugs and inconsistencies. Drivers make fewer mistakes, resulting in a safer driving experience.
